1. Choose your office color wisely – choose a color that always gives you a lift when you see it.

2. Have a “room with a view” and look outside when you’re talking on the phone and smile. It will show in your voice.

3. Take “a break” and go for a 10-15 minute walk once or twice a day if you feel tired or non-productive. The fresh air will clear your mind and help solve problems and inspire more creativity.

4. Set a time to start work each day and do it!

5. Have a schedule - it will help you organize your day AND finish projects faster.

6. Get out of your office several times a week and network – with business groups or as a volunteer. Networking creates business!

7. Sign up for professional Webinars and keep your skill sets up to date.

8. Keep up with your circle of friends - they may send you referrals.

9. Read the paper(s), watch national and local news every day to stay current with issues that might affect your business.

10. Don’t let family members spoil your mood - close the door and stay focused.

11. Schedule time “off” to run errands and to recharge your brain power.
